PMRS: Rainstorm worsens humanitarian conditions in Gaza

Saturday 13-December-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) in Gaza has warned of rapidly worsening humanitarian conditions amid a relentless rainstorm pounding the Strip for days, stressing that the elderly people and children are the most vulnerable in such harsh conditions.

In a statement released on Friday, PMRS explained that thousands of citizens remain trapped inside worn‑out tents flooded by torrents and heavy rains, despite repeated appeals over the absence of alternative shelters that could provide even minimal protection for them.

PMRS noted that four of its medical points went completely out of service after being submerged by floods, which led to the damage of medical devices and equipment that had been used to assist displaced persons.

PMRS expressed deep concern over the possible collapse of the food system in the coming days, given the acute shortage of basic items and the difficulty of delivering aid to shelters during the ongoing storm.

WHO: About 1,092 patients in Gaza died while awaiting medical evacuation

Saturday 13-December-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Around 1,092 patients in the Gaza Strip died while awaiting medical evacuation between July 2024 and November 28, 2025, Rik Peeperkorn, the World Health Organization (WHO)’s representative in the occupied Palestinian territories, told reporters at the UN headquarters in New York on Friday, citing Gaza’s health authorities.

Peeperkorn said the figure is likely underreported and based solely on reported deaths.

“WHO called on more countries to welcome patients from Gaza, and for medical evacuation to the West Bank, including east Jerusalem, to be restored,” Peeperkorn said.

According to Peeperkorn, 18 out of 36 hospitals and 43 percent of primary healthcare centers in Gaza were partially functioning, and there was a severe shortage of essential medicines and medical supplies needed for heart disease treatment, among others.

The WHO official said that although approval rates for supplies into Gaza had improved, the process of getting medicines and medical equipment into Gaza remained “unnecessarily slow and complex.”

He noted that WHO continues to face challenges in bringing laboratory reagents and critical lab machine components into Gaza, as many items were denied entry due to being classified as dual use.

He called on the Israeli authorities to give “a blanket approval” for medical supplies to enter Gaza “so urgent needs can be addressed.”

He said that Storm Byron struck Gaza with force, deepening the suffering of already displaced families, adding that winter conditions, combined with poor water and sanitation, are expected to drive a surge in acute respiratory infections, hepatitis and diarrheal diseases.

He also warned that children, older people, and those with chronic health issues remain at greatest risk.

UN, Gaza officials warn of deadly outbreaks after storm floods displacement camps

Saturday 13-December-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have warned that the polar storm “Byron” has triggered a compounded humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip, deepening civilian suffering amid Israel’s ongoing genocide and the continued blockade on essential relief supplies.

In a statement issued Saturday, the PGMO said the storm caused deadly building collapses and widespread flooding, particularly in areas previously bombed and structurally weakened. Civil defense teams recovered the bodies of 11 people killed when damaged buildings collapsed, while search efforts continue for one missing person. At least 13 homes collapsed across Gaza’s governorates, all of which had been previously targeted by Israeli attacks.

The storm swept away or flooded more than 27,000 displacement tents, part of a broader impact affecting over 53,000 tents either partially or completely damaged. The PGMO said more than 250,000 displaced Palestinians were directly affected, out of roughly 1.5 million people currently living in makeshift tents and overcrowded shelters offering little to no protection from extreme weather.

Initial direct losses are estimated at around $4 million, with the displacement sector bearing the heaviest damage as shelters turned into pools of water and mud. Losses also extended to infrastructure and roads, water and sanitation systems, food supplies, agriculture, health services, and energy sources, including the destruction of solar panels and alternative lighting used in displacement sites.

The PGMO stressed that these impacts were not a natural disaster alone, but the foreseeable result of Israeli policies that have blocked the entry of more than 300,000 tents, mobile homes, and caravans, and prevented the construction of safe shelters. It said the closure of crossings and obstruction of emergency supplies constitute a grave violation of international humanitarian law and place civilians, especially women, children, and the elderly, at avoidable risk.

Separately, the IOM warned on Friday that hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians face heightened risks from flooding and potential disease outbreaks. The organization said around 795,000 displaced people are living in low-lying, rubble-filled areas where unsafe shelters are highly vulnerable to floods.

The IOM noted that the lack of proper sanitation and waste management significantly increases the risk of epidemics, while critical materials such as timber, plywood, sandbags, and water pumps remain blocked from entering Gaza due to Israeli restrictions.

Local medical and civil defense sources reported that at least 14 people were martyred and others injured within a 24-hour period due to consecutive building collapses, freezing temperatures, and widespread flooding linked to the storm.

Both the PGMO and the IOM said the crisis highlights the extreme fragility of displacement conditions in Gaza, where most residents have been forcibly displaced multiple times during the genocide. Hundreds of thousands spent consecutive nights in torn tents amid heavy rain, strong winds, and flooding as storm Byron continued for a third day.

The PGMO placed full responsibility on Israel for the humanitarian catastrophe facing Gaza’s displaced population and called on the international community, the United Nations, humanitarian agencies, ceasefire guarantors, and donor states to urgently pressure Israel to open crossings without conditions.

It demanded the immediate entry of shelter materials, emergency supplies, and mobile housing, in line with humanitarian protocols, warning that further storms could lead to even greater loss of life if action is delayed.

'Hamas slams deadly Israeli strike in Gaza City, calls it “criminal ceasefire violation”

Sunday 14-December-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement has condemned the Israeli occupation army’s ongoing crimes in Gaza, including Saturday’s airstrike on a civilian car west of Gaza City, as a “deliberate criminal violation of the Trump-brokered ceasefire.”

In a statement on Saturday, 'Hamas said that “this crime once again confirms that the occupation deliberately seeks to undermine and sabotage the ceasefire agreement through escalating its ongoing violations.”

'Hamas held the Israeli government fully responsible for the consequences of its crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza and its systematic breaches of the ceasefire agreement, including the targeting of Palestinians and the obstruction of humanitarian relief efforts.

The Movement called on mediators and sponsors of the agreement to shoulder their responsibilities regarding what it described as Israel’s “blatant ceasefire violations” in Gaza.

Martyrdom of prisoner Sakhr Za'oul in Israel’s Ofer prison

Sunday 14-December-2025

RAMALLAH, (PIC)

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society announced on Sunday the martyrdom of prisoner Sakhr A'hmed Khaleel Za-oul, 26, from the town of 'Husan in Bethlehem Governorate, in Israeli occupation prisons.

The Commission explained that the notification of his death was received through the General Authority of Civil Affairs, without the occupation authorities providing any additional details regarding the circumstances of his death or its causes, amid the ongoing policy of opacity they pursue toward the issue of Palestinian prisoners.

It noted that the martyred prisoner had been held under administrative detention since June 11, 2025, and was detained in Ofer Prison.

Za'oul’s death comes at a time when Palestinian human rights organizations are intensifying warnings about the grave health and humanitarian conditions endured by prisoners in Israeli prisons, particularly in light of deliberate medical neglect, ongoing abuse, and the denial of prisoners’ most basic rights, conditions that have led to the martyrdom of a number of detainees in recent months.

Prisoner institutions called on the international community and human rights organizations to take urgent action to investigate the Israeli crimes against prisoners, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure international protection for Palestinian prisoners.

IOAR displaces six Palestinian families in Nablus City ahead of planned demolitions

Sunday 14-December-2025

NABLUS, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime (IOAR) forced six Palestinian families on Saturday to evacuate their homes in the city of Nablus as a prelude to demolishing them under the pretext of their location in Area C of the West Bank.

The homes are located on El-Ta’awun El-Uluwi street in Nablus City in an Area classified as B, which is under the administrative control of the Palestinian Authority.

Laith Abed reported that he, along with his father and brother, as well as his neighbor Ashraf 'Hattab with his father and brother, started to evacuate their homes, which are three houses comprising six apartments.

Abed said they were forced to do so after receiving demolition orders from the Israeli high court, which set December 31, 2025, as the final deadline for evacuation and demolition, claiming falsely that they are located in Israeli-controlled Area C.

These houses and 10 others have been under demolition orders since 2021. All of them accommodate between two and four families.

Abed affirmed that according to maps obtained by the families, all the houses are located in a Palestinian area classified as “B,” while the Israeli occupation army claims they are in Area “C.”

He pointed out that during the past two years, the Israeli army demolished six inhabited homes in the area, noting that all of the houses had been built more than 15 years ago.

El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime (IOAR) has ordered the Shuwaiki family in east Jerusalem to evacuate their home in Jabel El‑Mukabbir neighborhood as a prelude to demolishing it to make way for the illegal Israeli settler project.

The homeowner, Nawal Shuwaiki, said on Saturday that she and her family have lived in her house since they built it 30 years ago on her own piece of land.

She explained that the Israeli municipality in the holy city had issued a demolition notice for their home four years ago under the pretext of intending to build a settler road.

Last Monday, the municipality delivered a final eviction order ordering Shuwaiki to evacuate her home by next Sunday, threatening to impose heavy fines of up to 15,000 shekels if she failed to comply with the measure.

Last June, the Israeli municipality in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) announced a new plan aimed at expanding the illegal “Nof Zion” settlement, located in Jabel El‑Mukabbir neighborhood, which overlooks the Aqsa Mosque.

The authorities claimed the homes were built in Area C, under full Israeli control.

Abed noted that the homes, along with ten others housing two to four families each, have been under demolition notices since 2021. According to maps obtained by the families, all homes are located in Area B, under Palestinian administrative control, despite Israeli claims that they fall within Area C.

IOAR uprooted 1,608 olive trees in the West Bank in one week

Sunday 14-December-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

A Palestinian report documented on Saturday that Israeli occupation apartheid regime (IOAR) uprooted approximately 1,608 olive trees in various areas of the West Bank during the period between December 4 and 11.

The report, published by the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture on its Facebook page, showed a “notable escalation in attacks by settlers and the occupation army against Palestinian farmers across different West Bank governorates.”

It revealed that the total number of damaged trees reached 1,608 olive trees, including 477 trees in al-Khalil Governorate in the southern West Bank alone.

The report indicated that Israeli attacks during that period included land leveling, tree uprooting, destruction of hundreds of meters of irrigation networks, theft of agricultural equipment, and preventing access to farmland during the olive harvest season.

It added that during the same period, the occupation army issued hundreds of demolition notices for livestock pens and tents, and seized dozens of agricultural dunums in various areas of the West Bank.

According to the report’s data, the attacks were concentrated on agricultural land and fruit-bearing trees, reflecting an escalating settlement-oriented approach. It estimated the value of losses at approximately $1.335 million.

The Ministry of Agriculture warned that the continued violations “threaten Palestinian food security and specifically target the olive sector with the aim of seizing land.”

Previously, a report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission revealed that Israel seized 2,800 dunums of Palestinian-owned land during November, through orders of “seizure, expropriation, and modification of state land boundaries.”

The commission’s data also indicated that since the beginning of 2025, the Israeli occupation authorities have issued a total of 53 orders for land seizure for military purposes, marking a notable increase in the use of such orders, which invoke military pretexts to take control of Palestinian land.

Protesters rally in Stockholm against Israeli breaches of ceasefire in Gaza

STOCKHOLM, December 14, 2025 (WAFA) —

Hundreds of people took part in a protest in the Swedish capital Stockholm late Saturday evening to denounce Israeli violations against Palestinians and the continued breaches of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The demonstrators gathered at Odenplan Square following a call by numerous civil society organizations, protesting Israeli airstrikes targeting Gaza and the ongoing escalation despite the declared ceasefire.

Participants condemned Israel’s violation of the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect in Gaza on October 10, and warned of the humanitarian consequences of continued military attacks on the besieged enclave.

Protesters carried banners bearing slogans such as “Children are being killed in Gaza,” “Schools and hospitals are under attack,” and “Stop the genocide in Gaza.”

Speakers and participants also called for an immediate end to acts of genocide and Israeli air assaults on Gaza, as well as an end to arms sales to Israel, urging the international community to take concrete steps to protect Palestinian civilians.

"Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32).

"And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93).

"If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves. Then, when the latter (final) promise came, they (your enemies) will sadden your faces, and to enter the Masjid (in Jerusalem), as they entered it the first time, and will destroy what they had taken over with (total) destruction (Al-Isra, 17: 7).

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
